Microsoft's Optical Desktop 5000 is a wireless mouse and curved keyboard that's somewhere between a natural keyboard and a standard one. The mouse is well designed and is perfect for right-handers. The largely unused side buttons from the original Intellimouse have been shrunk and placed under the thumb. There's also a tilting scroll wheel, which scrolls smoothly.

The individual keys are firm and responsive, but we didn't like the layout. To the left of the keyboard is a zoom control and shortcut buttons for the included photo retouching software. This isn't a bad package, but it's best to try the keyboard before you buy.
