PodGear's PocketParty is a small set of speakers that allows others to listen to music from your iPod. Well, that's the theory at least. Powered by an AA battery, the PocketParty can muster only 1W of sound through its tiny speakers, while the iPod handles the volume. This is barely enough power for one person in a quiet room to hear it. Introduce any background noise and it's drowned out completely. It doesn't help that you can't use the speakers on full volume, as the distortion turns the music into an audio mess. With no bass and tinny sound, this is a product to avoid. By David Ludlow |
