Imation's Disc Stakka stores and organises up to 100 optical discs. It connects to your PC by USB and uses database software to store details of your discs. To retrieve a disc, you find it in the database and select eject. This is the only way to eject a disc, so we wouldn't keep restore discs in it. The software is annoying. To store a disc you put it in your PC's optical drive so that its contents can be read, then place it in the Stakka and select which disc it is from a list. The price is our biggest concern, though. It's far more expensive and fiddly than an attractive CD rack, and you can always put your discs in alphabetical order. By David Ludlow |
