Imageer  [Computer Shopper]
COMPANY: Spb Software House PRICE: $15  (around £8)
RATING: ISSUE: 204  DATE: Feb 05

If you want to tweak digital images but don't need Pocket Artist's power (or its price), Spb Imageer may be just the ticket. This isn't designed for creating paint images from scratch: it's a slideshow viewer with the ability to make basic corrections and enhancements to your digital photos. You can zoom, rotate, crop, sharpen, blur, remove red-eye and adjust hue, saturation, brightness and colour balance. These tools are enough to salvage all but the very worst digital photos, and there's a basic drawing tool for touch-up work. All image adjustments are made using simple slider controls, so even if you're not sure of the terminology, you can experiment until each photo looks just right. Imageer can handle JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF and BMP images, and can downsample images to save storage space.
