USB speakers generally aren't a great improvement over the usual variety. These are a bit different, though, as they draw their power over a USB connection. This makes them a promising candidate for use with a notebook, especially for people using PowerPoint on the move. Considering that USB limits the power rating to 1W per channel, the top volume is pretty decent - certainly louder than any notebook-integrated speakers. Sound quality is better too, roughly on a par with decent television speakers. Software is included with various sound processing functions, and there's even a headphone out and mic input.
