Product ReviewsNetworks/Servers
Sling Media is better known for its Slingbox, but with the SlingLink Turbo kit the company is moving into the powerline networking market. The manual describes the products as a way to connect your Slingbox to your router without having to run cables or resort to wireless, but you can use them for any device with an Ethernet port. The adaptors use HomePlug 85Mbit/s. They come unconfigured, with no encrypting password, although you can download a utility to configure them from Sling Media's homepage. Performance was roughly what we'd expect from 85Mbit/s HomePlug kit, but you can bag a similar Solwise kit for £53, or the faster D-Link's DHP-301 for £26 more. By David Ludlow SPECIFICATIONS:
