The device will be available in the UK from October 15th and is expected to retail at around £150.
"Last year at this time we announced PSP-2000, which was Slim & Lite, and we said then that we would continue to enhance PSP," said Sony Europe's president David Reeves. "As new technology comes along and we get feedback from consumers, one of the suggestions we had was for a built-in microphone so we decided to build that in."

"When you look at it in daylight, it looks brighter, it looks more intense and you get a better feeling when you're looking at the pictures," explained Reeves. "If you looked at a PSP-2000, you would say that it looks great anyway; when you see the PSP-3000, it's only then that you see that there's been quite an improvement on the screen."
The PSP 3000 will be available in eight bundles, including games such as Harry Potter, Buzz!: Master Quiz and FIFA 09.
The company also announced that an 80GB version of the Playstation 3 will be on sale from tomorrow, with a 160GB version to be launched later this year.
"If you're the kind of person that has an insatiable thirst for downloadable content and recording your favourite programmes using PlayTV, then this is the version for you," said Reeves.
