Debate: How to deal with kids on networking websites? 5:20PM, Thursday 7th August 2008
With three-quarters of parents admitting to spying on their children - a quarter of whom log in secretly to their kids' online accounts - Computer Shopper asks its readers: What should parents be doing to ensure their children's safety online?

Is spying on your children OK if you're only looking out for their interests, or should parents take a more direct approach to monitoring their kids' online activities?

Are Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and the others doing enough to protect your children's safety online? What more should these websites do?

How worried are you by what your children are getting up to online? Do you trust that they're sensible enough to stay safe? Do you think social networking sites are nothing more than harmless fun?

9 out of 10 parents claim they have become more diligent about addressing this issue over the past year. What have you done to address the problem this year that you weren't doing last year?

And have you ever logged on to your PC to find your child has posted some inappropriate content, or been having online exchanges of an inappropriate - even illegal - nature? What's the best way to tackle the issue in such a scenario?

All of your views are welcome and appreciated...
