The bug reared its head shortly after release, and occurs when people use a third-party application to edit or transfer files on a Windows Home Server with more than one hard disk.
The fix is part of the Power Pack 1 release, which alongside the corruption bug will also bundle a number of other fixes and performance improvements.

Microsoft is refusing to confirm a specific date for the launch of Power Pack 1, stating: "Due to the nature of the shared folder data corruption bug a broad beta test program with sufficient time for feedback is required. The timeline for a final release will depend on this feedback and testing, in order to deliver a fix of the highest quality."
The post from the Windows Home Server Team goes on to warn potential guinea pigs to backup all their data before installing the beta. After all, the point of the test is to find anything the team may have missed - which may not be great news for your install.
