Wait for Windows Home Server fix is almost over 11:43AM, Friday 23rd May 2008
Microsoft is gearing up to release a fix for the corruption bug blighting Windows Home Server.

The bug reared its head shortly after release, and occurs when people use a third-party application to edit or transfer files on a Windows Home Server with more than one hard disk.

those looking for a more immediate fix can sign up for the limited beta.

Microsoft is refusing to confirm a specific date for the launch of Power Pack 1, stating: "Due to the nature of the shared folder data corruption bug a broad beta test program with sufficient time for feedback is required. The timeline for a final release will depend on this feedback and testing, in order to deliver a fix of the highest quality."

The post from the Windows Home Server Team goes on to warn potential guinea pigs to backup all their data before installing the beta. After all, the point of the test is to find anything the team may have missed - which may not be great news for your install.
