Clarification: All Mesh warranties are supported 2:55PM, Friday 16th May 2008
In issue 245, July issue of Computer Shopper we reported that a 'Mesh mess leaves customers confused' (News, page 10), but this was misleading and unfair to Mesh Computers. Information that we received shows that the problem lies with Repair-line Ltd who have sold extended warranties directly to Mesh Computers Ltd customers.

To clarify, then, Mesh Computers Ltd will and has always promised to support all warranties sold directly with any of its PCs.

"Mesh Computers Ltd will continue to support all manufacturer's warranties and Mesh extended warranties as it has already been doing," said Geraldine Dawson, legal director of Mesh Computers Ltd.

This applies to all Mesh warranties that come with the PC or were sold directly through Mesh computers. Warranties that were sold directly by Repair-Line Ltd cannot be supported by Mesh.
If you're unsure

about the type of warranty that you have, your Mesh order form will have full details. You can also contact Mesh directly by phoning customer support on 0871 200 2333 or emailing services@meshcomputers.com. Make sure you quote your order number and Mesh can give you full details on the level of service that you're entitled to.

If you were sold or bought an extended warranty directly from Repair-Line, you'll need to contact that company directly, and take your complaint up with them.

"Mesh does not hold any data to individually identify any clients who entered into an external contract directly with Repair-Line," said Dawson. "Payments in respect of Mesh manufacturer's warranty and other Mesh warranties have been made in advance to Repair-Line Ltd, to the sum of £435,000. Where Repair-line has refused to fulfil the contract Mesh Computers has made additional payments to other providers to ensure all their Clients are fully supported."

Computer Shopper would like to unreservedly apologise for any statements that were misleading in its original news story.
