Swann's C510R looks professional and feels well built. It has a sturdy metal body and accepts different lenses. It comes with a metal bracket for mounting on a wall and a 10m cable and power adaptor, although it's not weatherproof.

The C510 was one of several cameras to produce strange colours in our daytime test. This aside, it produced one of the best images of our thief, with quality on a par with that of the superb XV300E. By night, its results were less impressive. It produced a bright image of our darkened room, but our thief was blurry.

This is a good camera for indoor use and its serious appearance might act as a deterrent, but we prefer the cheaper XV300E.
