Each of the M1 Active 620 speakers is bigger than most PC speakers' subwoofers, but they don't look too imposing. Power switches are easily accessible on the top of each speaker, but they draw 26W of power when on and silent or off, so they're really glorified mute switches.
The exposed tweeters are vulnerable to damage and exhibited a small amount of signal noise, especially when the volume trim controls were turned right up. Otherwise, sound quality was impressive, with plenty of volume on tap and sparkling clarity throughout the frequency spectrum. High frequencies were a bit excessive, but the dip switches on the back allowed us to tame them. The bass performance was the deepest and fullest of all the studio speakers, but we found it a little too much for accurate monitoring purposes, and the dip switches weren't able to bring it back in line.
