The G51 is the newest addition to Logitech's surround speaker line-up. The gunmetal and black colour scheme is aimed at gamers, and the satellites have Perspex covers under which artwork can be inserted (visit www.logitech.com/G51skins for game-themed designs to print out). The wired remote is well laid out and includes surround upmix options that make stereo music sources fill the room. It includes headphone-out and microphone pass-through sockets, making it easy to plug in a headset. As with many of the surround systems, the rear satellite cables could do with being longer.

Sound quality is arguably the best of the surround systems here, with a balanced tone that flattered all genres of music, crisp detail and a warmth and richness no other system could match. The top volume wasn't as loud as that of Genius's and Logitech's Z-5500 systems, but it was far from lacking. With excellent sound quality at a reasonable price, it is our Best Buy.
