LabsLCD monitors
LG's L227WT is the most expensive 22in monitor here, but it also has the best image quality and is the best-looking. It displays bright, saturated images that the other 22in screens just can't match, so is an excellent choice for games and movies. It doesn't have any integrated speakers, however. We immediately noticed how blindingly bright the L227WT's backlight is. This gives whites a real impact, and it uses the same dynamic contrast up to 5,000:1 as the 20in model to add depth to blacks in dark scenes. The preset modes are not really worth using and we noticed banding in our greyscale gradient test, but there was no evidence of this in our photo, video or game tests. The L227WT's brightness and vivid colours won't suit office work, but they're perfect for entertainment applications. It's relatively expensive, but it's an excellent 22in monitor and wins a Best Buy award. SPECIFICATIONS:
