The HANNSverona is the only 22in model here with an HDMI connection rather than the usual DVI. If your graphics card supports it, HDMI can carry audio as well as video, and the HANNSverona's integrated speakers are better than most here. You're better off using an HDMI cable than the analogue VGA port, as the control buttons on the screen's underside are hard to reach.
The monitor's glossy black chassis is reminiscent of LG's pricier L227WT, but it feels cheaper to the touch. It also shares the L227WT's oversaturated colours, which gives games and videos punch, but lends darker scenes a murky quality that makes detail hard to see. The image is sharp and clear, though, and text looks particularly good, so it's ideal for Windows applications.
The HANNSverona is good value for a 22in monitor with an HDMI connection, and its image quality is reasonable for the price. If you're after a 22in screen on a budget it's a good buy, but the LG L227WT's picture quality is far superior and worth the extra £50.
