Belinea's new monitor range looks odd with its off-white bezel and orange inscriptions. Rather than aping the clean white design of Apple's monitors, it actually looks a little dirty, and the square base doesn't help its appearance.
It has only an analogue VGA input, and the image needed tweaking. Sadly, the controls are awkwardly placed on the right edge of the frame, and the unresponsive buttons and poor menus make it tricky to adjust.
The o.display has a high brightness rating of 400cd/m2 and its screen is evenly illuminated, but even the best picture we could get had a bluish tinge. Viewing angles are poor, and if you move slightly up or down from the optimal eye level everything turns violet. We also saw a small amount of banding in our greyscale gradient tests.
Belinea's monitor is inexpensive, but it's not great value when you can get HannsG's superior HW194D for less and LG's larger L204WS for just a little more.
