Unlike the other Hitachi disks here, the Ultrastar comes with a five-year warranty. It excelled at transferring small files, especially in our writing test where it was one of only two disks to exceed 10MB/s. It was less ground-breaking in our large file tests, where it attained an average 73.865MB/s overall. Compared with Samsung's consistently fast 1TB Spinpoint, the Ultrastar is overpriced.
