Hitachi's 750GB Deskstar has a very low cost per gigabyte of just 15p. Overall, it was one of the fastest SATA disks in our small files tests. It was also noticeably quick at writing large files but fell slightly behind the front-runners when reading them, although 79.68MB/s is still quick. With great performance and a low price, the 750GB Deskstar is our Best Buy SATA disk.
