Simply changes its name to Misco 11:00AM, Wednesday 2nd February 2005

Simply Computers is to change its name. The computer reseller will now be changing its name to Misco Consumer. The name change aims to bring the consumer business in line with the better known Misco business to business computer reseller operation.

Misco and Simply are the UK subsidiaries of the US manufacturer Systemax..

The name change is the latest move in a general reorganisation of Systemax's operations in the UK. Last week closed its London base and moved its offices to its parent Systemax's headquarters in Wellingborough. The company also announced that from the end of January it would cease assembly of PCs in the UK, sourcing them instead from its plant in the US. At the beginning of the year, Misco closed its Scottish sales office.

Simply says that the name change would not affect its customers' purchases and warranties.
