Craze: Absurdity summons competitive spirit 12:54PM, Friday 15th August 2008
Some things in life make you just shake your head in disbelief. Most of those things can be found at Fail Blog, a website that exhibits pictures of the most ridiculous things in life - such as nonsensical road signs, badly worded billboards or structures with serious design flaws - and allows visitors to rate them.

Users can upload pictures and comment on them. There's even a function to embed images on to your own web page. There is also a section where users can offer their own captions for pictures. A collection of political, cultural and societal images are posted so that users can have their way with them and put a humorous spin on them.

For those of you with a real competitive streak, "I beat you" is challenging users to offer their best video efforts on any given topic, and pit their handiwork against that of competitors. Videos of the funniest Rocky montage, staring competitions and even melodramatic death scenes can all be seen and rated at the site.

The website also has photo competitions and a leaderboard, which enables visitors to see who has been the best at tickling the collective funny bone.
