According to Adobe, the move will enable users to carry out more relevant searches of the rich internet applications (RIAs) and other content that runs in Adobe Flash Player. It will also mean that content producers will not need to amend their file formats to make content searchable by Yahoo! or Google.

"We are initially working with Google and Yahoo! to significantly improve search of this rich content on the web, and we intend to broaden the availability of this capability to benefit all content publishers, developers and end users."
Google has already incorporated the technology into its search engine and Yahoo! will be introducing the search capabilities in a future update.
"We now help website owners that choose to design sites with Adobe Flash software by indexing this content better. Improving how we crawl dynamic content will ultimately enhance the search experience for our users," said Bill Coughran, senior vice president of engineering at Google.
Sean Suchter, vice president at Yahoo! search technology engineering added: "Yahoo! is committed to supporting webmaster needs with plans to support searchable SWF and is working with Adobe to determine the best possible implementation."
