Mesh Matrix 64 FX55 Pro review

Rather than the 20in NEC TFT Mesh included with its 3800+ Ultimate, this time it opts for the high-quality 19in ViewSonic VG910b. It looks stylish, but its resolution is 1,280 x 1,024 to the NEC's 1,600 x 1,200. It produced sharp results, although in our DisplayMate tests we were disappointed to see some banding, while its response time of 25ms leads to blurring in games. As a plus though, low-end colour definition is good, making DVD viewing enjoyable.

There's a standard mouse and keyboard set from Logitech. The mouse is well designed and the keyboard offers a few shortcut buttons while being comfortable to type on. The warranty, too, is Mesh's standard cover of two years on-site followed by one-year return-to-base.

If it weren't for the teething troubles of the new processor and beta BIOS, the FX55 Pro would have put the A-Listed Matrix 64 3800+ Ultimate under a lot of pressure. We can't recommend it with these problems, but when they're solved we'll re-test this PC and print the updated scores in Product Brief.
