Mesh Matrix 3200+ Power review

Another FireWire port is provided on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2, which perfectly complements the set of Creative Inspire 6700 speakers, offering 6.1 Dolby Digital EX surround sound for the latest DVD movies.

The speakers are, however, slightly at odds with the rest of the colour scheme. In a step back to the good old days, the Matrix 3200+ Power has gone back to beige, which includes the Logitech keyboard and mouse and the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB monitor.

Also, while the monitor's great for a CRT, and the SuperBright mode adds a significant boost in brightness to 3D games and movies, it's no match for the 18in UltraSharp TFT that comes with the Dell Dimension 8300. And this is the main problem for Mesh: with its huge speaker set and 18in TFT for £100 less, the Dell's certainly a better all-round setup.

But if you want the fastest machine, the Matrix 3200+ Power is the PC to go for. It even comes with a great software bundle, including Microsoft Works Suite 2003, and also includes a three-year, on-site warranty. Mesh is offering an upgrade to an 18in NEC 1860NX TFT for £149, and with this in tow you'll have a well-rounded and incredibly fast PC, albeit at a premium.
