Mesh Elite XP 2.6GHz Ti46 review

The supplied Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 740SB monitor is another quality choice, as its Labs winner status (see Labs, issue 91, p76) and recent A List presence can testify. Its Diamondtron M2 tube provides a bright image with vibrant colours and excellent focus. The only concern is the captive video cable; if you should damage any of the connecting pins, you'll have to return the whole monitor for repair.

Overall, the Mesh's feature set for £1,099 is well thought out. Starting with Intel's currently second fastest processor and complementing it with a generous memory quota ensures performance will meet the needs of the most demanding applications for now and the future. The three-year, on-site warranty will also bring peace of mind. It seems, though, that the unit price of the Intel processor has still taken a large slice out of the overall budget, as similarly performing Athlon-based systems such as the Systemax Inspire 7147 (see Reviews, issue 96, p99) can be bought for a staggering £699, albeit with slightly less impressive features. Still, if you're after an Intel system, the Elite XP 2.6GHz Ti46 is one of the best-value, top-performing systems we've seen and well worth considering.
