The midnight and storm grey styling of the main system is complemented by the inclusion of the very stylish Dell-branded 17in TFT, with its neat swivel base and tilting arm making it easy to find an optimal viewing angle. However, with only a minor change in brightness as you tilt the screen, you can appreciate the screen's rich colours and solid sharpness from just about any angle.

There's no argument that the Evesham Axis 2100+NK and Mesh Matrix XP 2200+ Ti Pro are great value for the performance and features they offer, and the Dell's one-year warranty with six-day, collect-and-return service is also disappointing next to the three-year, on-site warranty from Mesh. What the Dell offers, however, is faster performance, professional features like a DVD+RW and design flair for £300 more. This is the professional's PC of choice, but you have to pay for it.
