If you need indexing and searching of network drives, Copernic is the only serious free choice. You'll just have to accept that

While we've previously been critical of the AllTheWeb.com-powered web search, this is no more. Since the acquisition of Copernic by Mamma Inc at the end of last year, the web search is now Mamma driven and greatly improved for it both in terms of interface and relevancy.

One thing we can't comprehend is the lack of support for indexing and searching ZIP archives when everything else on test can do it. Until this is fixed and the interface is redesigned, Yahoo! remains the better option for most. But Copernic is still a fine choice if you need support for network drives.
