When all the elements have been dealt with and the resulting text has been inserted and edited to your satisfaction, attention may be given to other parts of the form. Although there's no automated help like that given with performance elements, a click on the toolbar advice button reveals a wealth of useful information. Reference to this source of advice should smooth the way to completing all other sections of the form.

In the copy reviewed, however, I found one problem in the help system. When looking up the meaning of a word in the glossary, the system told me it couldn't find the appropriate HLP file. One other grumble relates to the built-in spelling checker which couldn't find the word 'acknowledgement', although the program's designers had used this word in one of the appraisal form's section headings.

The responsibility for producing fair and accurate appraisals still lies with the reviewer, even if you use this package. However, PlanIT Staff Appraiser makes the task surprisingly effortless.
