We all have MP3 players these days, along with thousands of songs on our PCs and laptops. For many people a media player is simply a way of playing those tracks, and you may feel Windows Media Player does that job without fuss.

But you don't have to go with Microsoft - there are plenty of superior options out there and the best news is that they won't cost you a penny.
