FeedDemon

Verdict

A highly flexible feed-reader that's now free, but it's still not the best in town.

Overall Rating
5 stars out of 6

FeedDemon is a highly flexible news reader, which until now you've had to pay for.

This latest version - 2.6 - has been released as free software, however, and still offers that 'paid for' experience.

You get full customisation of how your feeds are displayed, the ability to download podcasts to your iPod, and flexible automatic news watches so you don't miss articles that are of interest to you.

It is quick to update, the newspaper display metaphor works as well as it does with Sage, and the brilliant panic button alerts you when you have loads of unread news, and offers to delete older material.
