Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

Verdict

Plenty of core new power for the digital camera user, but Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is still playing catch-up.

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

For existing PSPP users, core new features such as the automatic storage of original images and the dedicated Express Lab will make a significant difference to their working experience. However, none of the new capabilities are groundbreaking - and there are still plenty of gaps left unfilled, such as the lack of built-in web sharing and a decent tagging or organisational view. PSPP X2 offers a great deal of bitmap power at a good price, and it's moving in the right direction when it comes to PC photography. But there's still a long way to go and, with the new version of Photoshop Elements pulling further ahead, it's going to have to do even better than this.
