Fujitsu Siemens Primergy RX600

Verdict

A quality Xeon MP server, delivering excellent build quality and value with plenty of room to grow. Management and monitoring tools are particularly good, and operational noise levels are surprisingly low.

For some time now the Xeon MP has had no competition in the high-performance, multiprocessor server market, but AMD's Opteron could make a strong challenge to this dominance. That said, there's little between AMD and Intel in price. The bottom line is if you're looking for some serious 32-bit processing power, want plenty of room to expand with demand and need good fault-tolerance and management tools, then the Primergy RX600 is a fine choice.
