Systemax takes the honours with the first Itanium 2 1U rack server. It delivers a typically good design, plenty of storage options and quality remote management tools.

Over the past couple of years, we've come to expect great things from Supermicro, and its latest rack-mounted server continues this tradition. And we can't fault Systemax's implementation. The Mission 6502 neatly slots the latest low-cost Itanium 2 processors into the first 1U rack server and adds storage options that are superior to HP's rx2600, plus quality management features, including support for the latest IPMI specification.
