Dekart Password Manager

Verdict

Review Date: 17 Mar 2006

Price when reviewed: (£22)

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

Dekart has two main claims to fame: first, it's already a known security player with its Private Disk hard disk encryption tool; second, Password Manager is a USB-based utility, residing on a device you provide. Once installed, you fill in your user profile and then just leave it to sit and spy on all that you do, grabbing every user/pass login combination and encrypting them to the USB device using 256-bit AES. What differentiates Dekart from the masses is the fact that it has authentication support for numerous biometric devices built in. Insert USB thumb drive, enter PIN, scan fingerprint, choose website login from list and away you go. Actual login and identity management, however, is nowhere near as advanced and flexible as AI RoboForm Pro. And it only supports Internet Explorer too.
