The PG-C20XE is a good all-round multimedia projector with some excellent features.

That said, these problems were less evident when running multimedia, and the PG-C20XE coped well with fast-moving 3D scenes. DVD video was also handled well and the projector includes dedicated video picture circuits to enhance the output from external video sources. This is aided by the ability to change the projection position between four different settings, and there's also a 16:9 mode.

The on-screen menu is clear and user-friendly, providing basic picture controls as well as tuning and video picture controls, plus lamp life and display mode information. The mobile phone-style flip-out remote control is comfortable and responsive, featuring a thumb pad for directional control and a trigger positioned button. Sharp also includes a remote mouse module with USB and PS/2 connections, which is useful if you need to present away from your source computer.

The Sharp PG-C20XE is a good projector, with an impressive spread of connection options and above-average image quality. Active keystone correction is also an excellent feature, maintaining correct aspect ratio with keystone activated. However, poor colour performance is the main weakness and the lack of a PC Card slot also counts against it. However, it's good value at £2,979 and, with a sufficient level of input quality either through PC or video, it's worth auditioning.
