Powertraveller Solargorilla review

Verdict

A good idea, but very expensive once you factor in the necessary battery pack.

Not expensive

Hi Matthew,
I am glad I read your article, I am considering buying a SolarGorilla. Now I understand the Amazon reviews where people sent it back, completely disillusioned - you need both the Solar and Power gorillas! I had not figured that out from their website!
However, I just want to comment about price. All other solar chargers for laptops cost about 650 dollars or over 400 pounds, so why do you feel the Gorilla set is expensive? The others apparently are not flawless either, even at the higher price.
Any idea about the best system? I have a netbook, so should be able to trickle and fully charge.
Thanks again!
Caroline
