Sanyo has been quietly growing a solid fan base at PC Pro and the Xacti CA65 is another strong effort. Like the CA6 (web ID: 96015), it records onto SD cards and it's also compatible with SDHC cards, which currently run to 8GB. You'll squeeze around 45 minutes of footage onto the included 1GB card. The Xacti is also waterproof: to depths of 1.5m for up to 60 minutes. This, coupled with the non-mechanical recording, makes it hardy enough for adrenalin junkies. The electronic image stabilisation is also extremely effective, even at the maximum optical zoom of 5x. Quality from the miniature optics is unmistakably digital, with colours mildly oversaturated and compression artefacts apparent, but the CA65 is more than good enough for recording video for the web.
