Geofox One review

The Geofox proudly boasts a fully functional Web browser. Our pre-production model sported Psion's beta of its Web HTML 3.2 browser. The final Geofox will feature its own application, but as this is an EPOC32 machine you could also download Psion's own freely available Web client. There's also a simple terminal program with a scripting function. The email client is again a Psion beta. In use it's easy to manage and relatively powerful.

The Geofox One is a muscular and well-featured PDA which builds on the functionality licensed from Psion. At £382 it's significantly less expensive than the £426 8Mb Series 5, and boasts twice the amount of RAM with more standard applications. Considering the hardware, the Geofox One is the most powerful handheld PC we've seen, if you discount the new Toshiba Libretto (previewed p158). It's unfortunate therefore, that we can't recommend it, as the keyboard makes it near impossible to utilise its obvious power. As a result, most users would still be more comfortable with Psion's Series 5.
