Cisco Systems WAAS Mobile 3.4 review

Simple file copy operations saw huge improvements. The presentation copied from client to server and back in 46 and 45 seconds, but just 2 seconds in both directions with the client activated. FTP operations were similarly affected: the FileZilla client utility copied the test file to and from the server in 42 and 44 seconds respectively, and less than 2 seconds with optimisation on.

WAAS Mobile is ideal for smaller businesses that want mobile and remote workers to enjoy LAN-like performance without being locked into proprietary appliance-based solutions. Both server and client components are easy to install and deploy, management is well catered for and WAN acceleration performance is amongst the best we've seen. It's good value too, and Cisco's client-licensing scheme means it can be upgraded in line with requirements.
