Bose SoundDock review

After a hectic day at work, you can wind down on the train or bus by listening to your favourite tunes on your iPod. But then, just when you've really settled into your playlist, the journey's over and you're at home. Do you interrupt your reverie, or wander around the house wearing earphones?

You don't have to do either thanks to a high-quality speaker system that also recharges your iPod for the next day. Bose's SoundDock is sleek and elegant, and the sound quality is as brilliant as you'd expect from Bose. In fact, the dynamic range is so good that it showed up the high compression levels of some of our music; higher bit-rate recordings definitely make a difference here. Bass wasn't lacking, and neither was mid-range.

At £249, the SoundDock isn't cheap, but it can effectively take the place of a traditional hi-fi system in whichever room you choose to use it.
