First, like its predecessor, the tc4400 lacks an optical drive. You'll need to either buy a USB external drive, or go the HP route and opt for a MultiBay II Cradle for (£60) and add a super-slim MultiBay II DVD writer (another £135). For even more flexibility, you could also slip the DVD writer into the Advanced Docking Station (costing £130), giving you six USB ports, two PS/2 ports, DVI-D and D-SUB outputs, plus LAN, parallel and serial connections.

HP warned us that the product code (RA296ET) may be altered over the coming months. The model will remain unchanged, though, so if the specifications and price are right go for it. HP also told us that it's received far more orders than expected, so supplies could be short until November. However, for those looking for the best tablet on the market, it will be well worth the wait.
