HP Compaq nc2400

Even with the docking station, second battery and warranty upgrade, the nc2400 still costs £100 less than the VAIO, making this a fantastic deal. For the ultimate in mobility, though, it simply can't match the Sony with its tiny chassis and astounding battery life. But if budget is more important, the nc2400 is a superb choice. As long as you factor in the cost of a second battery, you'll have no complaints at all.
