Evesham Quest A230

Verdict

A solid and low-priced start for the Turion 64 X2 CPU in a light and well-featured notebook

Review Date: 23 Jun 2006

Price when reviewed: (£799 inc VAT)

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

Despite the Quest's low price, it's good rather than outstanding value for money. You only need to look at our ultra-light notebooks group test to see rivals based on Intel's Core Duo processor that cost a similar amount but offer better battery life; most notably, the Hi-Grade Notino D2200-1600. And if you have a little more money to spare, consider the simply more desirable and better-built Samsung Q35. But we still like the Quest A230. It's fast, it's very portable, and considering the price it's also commendably specified - the 80GB hard disk and three-year warranty both stand out.
