Zepto Znote 6214W

Verdict

A decent machine with plenty of power, but not spectacular value for money

Review Date: 18 May 2006

Price when reviewed: (£946 inc VAT)

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

The Znote 6214W is a solid laptop, and a respectable UK debut for Zepto. It doesn't qualify for an award, however: although there's nothing intrinsically wrong with it (aside from the poorer-than-average screen), there's nothing that really makes it stand out either. For those not interested in gaming, we recommend the Dell Inspiron 6400, which has less RAM and a 20GB smaller hard disk but a faster CPU, larger screen and much better battery life, as well as being £210 cheaper. Gamers would do well to consider the Evesham Voyager C550 RD, which offers the same sized hard disk and quantity of RAM, but comes with a marginally quicker processor, a bigger screen and Windows XP MCE 2005.
