Samsung P10 C XTC 1900 Fingerprint

Verdict

A well-built and well-specified notebook, with the added bonuses of fingerprint security and Wireless LAN. This inexpensive corporate notebook could be used in the home or office.

The battery life will also be good news to travellers, lasting 116 minutes in our intensive test, 215 minutes under light use and 119 minutes running a DVD movie. It's not the best we've seen, but it's far from the worst - expect about two and a half hours under normal use.

For £1,499, the Samsung P10 C is only £54 more than the Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E-7010 (see Labs, issue 95, p54), and also offers faster performance, WLAN, fingerprint security and a larger hard disk. The only disappointment is the standard one-year, European collect-and-return warranty compared with the E-7010's three years. But this is otherwise a superb notebook that provides almost everything the business user needs in one unit.
