It's worth comparing the 4810T with a laptop like the ultraportable Sony VAIO VGN-Z21MN/B. The Sony offers far more power, similar battery life, as well as vastly better. It's also far more practical for stuffing into a crowded shoulder-bag. But all that costs money - more than £1,200 in the Sony's case. The Acer may lack the power and polish of a top-end VAIO, and it's certainly larger and heavier at 1.95kg, but it provides its staggering battery life for a vastly more palatable £652. For sheer value for money, that makes this a portable deal that's hard to beat.

...but the price!
I've bought an Acer 8930G with 1080p screen and Blu-ray, T6400 cpu and 4Gb DDR3 for this sort of price. Why so much for so much less?

Portability?
The 8930G weighs nearly 4kg but this weighs less than 2kg. That's what you're paying for with the 4810T, plus the battery life.
