A monster of a Centrino 2 laptop: fast, surprisingly long-lasting and very well-equipped for the price

Other than the processor, our review sample is the final retail specification. The included Nvidia 9600 graphics chip pushed the M70 to an average of 51fps in our low Crysis test and 16fps at medium settings - not groundbreaking, but certainly usable. Asus also supplies three times the storage space of the Dell, while matching the Dell's Blu-ray drive and large 17in screen.

Thus, at first glance it seems to be clear that the M70 offers more than the Dell, and when you look to the expected price the better option is even more obvious. While the Dell still costs around £1,200, the faster and better specified Asus will undercut it by a more than £400. That's a huge saving, so those who want a luggable desktop replacement that excels at media playback would do well to keep an eye on the highly promising Asus M70.
