Verdict

The PortÚgÚ offers more or less everything you'd expect from a multimedia portable in a remarkably compact package. It's quite expensive, though.

The PortÚgÚ's benchmark performance was competent, but not dazzling, coming in at exactly the same speed as Dell's similarly-equipped Latitude (reviewed issue 27, p162). While the Dell comes in at a lower price point, the Toshiba does have the edge in size and components, especially with the ten-speed CD-ROM drive. If it's fast and compact multimedia on the move you need, take a look at the PortÚgÚ.
