Even discounting the potential of SideShow, the W5fe is still a smart, powerful system, with an attractive and well-made chassis backed up by a powerful set of components. The glossy screen is a potential downside, and we'd certainly hope the battery life will improve between now and a final retail version. That leaves the W5fe looking like a unique, if slightly expensive option, for those looking for something a little different.
