Overall Rating
3 stars out of 6

A table of the digital images taken with the pocket digital cameras

Powered by four AA batteries, the L-300 is by far the heaviest camera on test at 277g. It's also one of the biggest, so is best carried in a coat rather than a trouser pocket. Solid build quality is welcome though, as is the decent menu system, which works like Sony's.

Sadly, quality from the 3x optical zoom and 3.2-megapixel sensor wasn't amazing. Outdoor shots lacked tonal range, but were sharp with accurate colours. Indoors, flash performance was good but macro ability was average, as wasÊmovie quality.

Manual features are off the menu and the 1.5in LCD wasn't great in direct sunlight. Overall, in this company, the big PhotoPC L-300 looks distinctly ordinary.
