Mesh Matrix Vision Plus

Verdict

A good set of components and decent performance make this a great PC, but we'd still prefer to spend an extra £255 on the Evesham Axis Blaze.

The Evesham also has the new Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card inside. While we'd be reluctant to recommend rushing to the shops to buy one, we were impressed at the noticeable difference between the audio quality of this card compared with that of the onboard Realtek ALC850 codec in the Vision Pro.

It's the extras that come with the Evesham that help justify its price. The screen is almost worth the extra £250 in itself, with superb colour handling and bright, even backlighting. But there's even faster graphics and the brand-new Creative X-Fi sound card too. It's money well spent. At a smidge under £1,300, the Vision Pro may look a tempting purchase if your budget can't stretch to the Evesham and, indeed, it is, but you'll always wonder how much better the Evesham would have been.
